Garage Sale

Before my mower mishaps on Saturday, Mandy and I had a garage sale. Its intersting how many people will by the stuff that you don't want! This was my first garage sale! I'd have to say it has been a pleasent experience. The weather was just incredible Saturday morning!

Steve, Tracie and Ezra came by to have a look at our goods. Ezra was wearing a SWEET transformers shirt. Ivy spent the night with Terri and David the night before and hadn't arrived by the time Ezra showed.

Mower troubles

This guy wouldn't work at all on Saturday. I wasted a few hours tinkering around with it. I changed the air filter, spark plug, and checked the oil several times. The damned thing just didn't want to work. I took it back to Wal-Mart on Sunday. Exchanged for another new one. I had only just bought the last one. At the beginning of August when we moved into ths house! Oh well. The grass is mowed as of now.

Drama, Mirrors

Today was one of the most dramatic and theatrical days of my life so far. I will not go into detail here because it's WAY too complicated.

Lately, whenever I look into a mirror, I don't know myself. Seriously. I do not want that statement to be taken metaphorically. I really hardly recognize that guy. I guess i'm finally aging.

Supper, Winter, Band, Guitars

Traci and Steve came over for Supper tonight. Ezra and Ivy played together for a while. It was fun but very brief. Steve and I spoke about Video Games while the ladies cooked. It was just so damn BRIEF! I suppose it is a product of aging.

Meh.

Maybe I just need Winter to come. Fall is my favorite but I always feel more creative in the Winter.

Tomorrow is band practice. Corey is back from the Florida Keys so we should be able to get something done. It really does feel stagnant in there, though the addition of the Apple notebook might light a fire under our ass. We can pretty much record whenever.

A new music store opened up about a mile from the house. All Star Music. It was a pretty sweet store. They had at least one of every cool guitar that comes to mind.

Nukes!

This is a picture of a nuclear explosion one millisecond after detonation. You can read more about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rope_trick_effect

I found these links on http://www.digg.com/. They have a "blog it" option but I keep receiving some strange error from the blog.

The Move, The Internets are DOWN, WOW, SGU

I haven't made "blogging" a priority lately. Mandy, Ivy, and I recently moved out to Loganville. Its a little closer to our parents, so that negates us being a little farther from work. The traffic on 20 is horrible, but the construction is coming along nicely.

Our internet access has been down for the last 5 days. Today a "tech" came out and "fixed" it. It's had me on edge. I sorta watched the Falcons game friday through a very, very fuzzy ESPN. I think Harrington is gonna give us a winning season.

I've recently been introduced to World of Warcraft. As part of the move we bought a new computer. This one can actually run most of the games coming out.

I've also began listening to the podcast The Skeptics Guide to the Universe. They have given me a lot to think about lately. More to come...?

so many "blogs"

I hate the name "blog". I started doing the myspace thing but I really don't like it. Perhaps I should delete my entire Myspace. That would be fun.

Bears or Colts? I'm bored.

Tonight I am celebrating! I am a King of Mediocrity. Just like Salieri.

Yellow River Game Ranch

Weekend Update

Saturday we all crossed town to Mandy's parents house. Ivy played outside all day as usual. She's gonna be pissed when it gets cold out. David and Terri bought this wagon months ago and Ivy was always scared of it. After two hours of playing within a comfortable proximity of the red wagon of death, curiousity got the better of her and she climbed inside. I pulled her around the yard at least a dozen times. When I finally tired of pulling her around she just sat there contently switching sides and pulling the seats up and down. Emory came over a little after she had climbed out, and Lindsey drug them both around for a little while. After visiting The Grandparents Mandy and I came home and ate some Taco Salad and drank a little. Corey came over at a time early enough to visit Ivy. He was impressed with how much she has grown. Ivy was a little skiddish at first but she warmed up quickly.

Today, we went to the Yellow River Game Ranch. I had a great time and I'm sure Mandy did too. Ivy was happy just to walk around the whole place. She never really looked twice at the Bears or Foxes or Deer or anything except her feet.

Shooting Range

Corey, John, and I went to Bullseye in Lawrenceville today. I shot my .38 for the first time. We all bought "fat guy" targets and went to town. Corey rented a .45 that was badass. We had a good time. You can really let loose your aggression on one of those people targets. I'll have to visit again and soon.

Some Bday pics

Working for the government

Bill will be joining us on Monday. It should be a fun time. I think he's just right for it. I hope he doesn't make me look bad. Ha.

It seems that Ivy just doesn't want to eat anything. I always try to feed her but I think she doesn't want baby food anymore. I always end up giving her crackers and juice or a piece of whatever I happen to be eating. Thank God Mandy knows what she's doing. I'm sure she'll read this and be assured of my excellent parenting skills.

I'm waiting now for Mandy to get off from work. I'm starting to understand that 10-6pm is meaningless. But hey, she's bringing home the bacon. How can I argue?

Time flies!

I just went through my old blog at www.livejournal.com. I used to keep track of all the band goings on and stuff happening with Mandy.

Oh well.

Since my last post, Ivy has turned a year old, Mandy started a new job at Petsmart in Johns Creek, and Ground:Xero has recorded two new songs which can be found at www.myspace.com.groundxero

I can only guess that all of my online bragging time has been taken up by watching the beautiful and exponentially growning Ivy E Pants.

More information as it develops.

an open letter to the marvel execs

Dear Marvel,

The only way you can save your ass on a franchise that has brought you millions in revenue is to rush out X-Men 4 and follow the Chris Claremont/Jim Lee run with "Days of Future Past". It's the only way to right all of your wrongs and introduce the characters all the fans really want to see: Bishop, Cable, GAMBIT. You dumbasses. When Prof X died in Xcrement 3 I was flabbergasted. Ecspecially knowing that Prof X is widely known to be one of the most powerful mutants in the X-men mythos. So you cured Mystique and Magneto...so what. Pyro is gay. We still haven't seen Logan in his trademark berserker rage. You could do it so easily. I can see it now, the camera shows us wolvie all pissed off beyond belief, and then you see his left hand show off the claws, the camera pans slowly to the right, only to see the right hand showing the adamantium we've all grown to love. Then you follow up with Logan destroying everything in his path. What will it take for you to see that if you satisfy the "hardcore" fans, the rest will follow? FFVII is a perfect example of this. If square had released Advent Children in place of The Spirits Within, Square would be in a much more profitable place. You would immediately satisfy the fanboys, then you would spark sales of the game(s). People want to latch on and figure out a mystery. If they don't understand something that the "in" crowd is into, some people will do all that they can to figure it out. All this does is make everyone money.

Who Knew?

Botis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
In demonology Botis is a Great President and Earl of Hell, commanding sixty legions of demons. He tells of all things past and future, and reconciles friends and foes.
He is depicted as an ugly viper, but when he changes shape, he puts himself in human shape, with big teeth and two horns. When in human shape he carries a sharp and bright sword in his hand.
Other spelling: Otis

Clarity

Today was sobering to me. There are many things I have forgotten. Though I may seem ungrateful, I am the luckiest man in the world.

God, if you're out there...Thanks.

Good Friday?

The last thing I wanted tonight to be was "drama in the band room" night. Jesus. I'm not frustrated with the band, or disenchanted, or anything. I like what's happening right now. The music is getting better, the lyrics are getting better. I can't really complain. Now it's down to choosing between two brothers? WTF? I was so upset that I even got in a "fight" with Drew. That is exactly the kind of thing I want to avoid if at all possible. I just want to play some damn shows and let the people let us know if we are doing something wrong.

Anywho, Mandy and I rearranged the living room today. I like it much better now. It seems like we have more space...maybe that is only because it's a different setup. I actually beat Mandy home tonight.

Sunday will be Ivy's first Easter. We should go tomorrow and get her a basket and candy that Mandy and I will eat. It's gonna rule. Later on.
