Come on get down with the sickness

I think i'm getting sick. I don't get sick. I'm not sickly. CRAP. Today sucks. I woke up late for work. I was too busy lovin on the Pants (Crucifier) to get up and make coffee and get dressed on time. Then I got all pissy about the internets. I created a myspace account again. Add me so I can be COOL and have lots of friends and get you to buy our cds. That would rule.

Here is a poem

Crap
I woke up late today
Crap
I want a blue voodoo
cause the randall didn't work out
it makes me sad and I wish it would rain
so i can cry

Rage...Taking...Over

Okay....now it's just insulting. Who the fuck do you think you are? Do you have some special "do whatever I want" card? You are fucking NAIVE! I can't believe this has escalated to this level. It shouldn't be an issue! Stop acting like a child! Ivy is all I can handle right now.

FUCK.

The Big Bang

It's funny where life takes you. My evening started out with a highly intellectual conversation about the origin of the universe and ended up with a rant about how some moron parked his car in two spaces in my apartment complex.

I wouldn't trade the way things have turned out for anything. I love my life. Sure it's not always puppies and clouds, but it's way better than it used to be. I feel more calm now that Ivy is here. It's just funny to think about how people come and go. On the 17th, Chad and Kim came out to see Chaosfest. I knew they were coming but later on that night I went up to Chad and said, "you know, it seems like we used to have a lot more friends." He just laughed and said, "I know man." He went on to tell me about their birth announcements and how Kim asked him who out of his friends he would like to send them to, and it turned out to be three people. I was lucky enough to be included! They have also recruited me to watch and care for Cyrus this weekend. They went "camping" at Stone Mountain. Cyrus is a good dog but he pulls a leash like a maniac.

Tonight reminded me how you never know how things are going to turn out. The universe, your friends, your band, your job, etc. I think what counts is how many times you laugh when you talk about "old times" compared to how many times you cry. If it turns out to be even, then everything is fine.

It's The Jacks

Tuning guitars is no fun at all. Why can't they just be push button? I shoulda been a pianist. At least we have finally gotten all the loose ends tightened up, now that Brooks is playing bass. The Tuning issues have been addressed and a compromise has been reached. Last night we jammed on the new tuning and everyone was impressed with the new sound. I can't wait to write new material. I've been playing much more guitar lately and I have a toilet bowl full of bad ideas!

Tuning 1 (low to high)

Bb
F
Bb
Eb
G
C

Tuning 2 (low to high)

Bb
F
C
F
A
D

The last tuning is just two damned cool to get rid of. I know that the two are very similar and the songs that use Tuning 2 could easily be transposed to Tuning 1, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

At least now there will be more uniformity to our guitar sound, and all the songs from the old tuning just sound way heavier and more evil. Drop C, the old tuning, was sounding like every Hardcore/Metalcore shit band that you see on Headbangers Ball. Not at all what we are interested in. I feel like Ground:Xero has a lot more potential than we put forth. But now I feel as if I have to prove to myself that I know "guitar", and that I am indeed more "metal?" than pretty much anyone. Just remember: My dad could absolutely, undeniably, kick your dad's ass!

Best Ivy Pic EVER?!?!

This is my new most favoritest pic of Ivy Elayne Pants!

Chaosfest . . .

Chaosfest was great! I've never seen so many awesome local bands. The problem? NOBODY came to this thing. It was kinda dissapointing...but I had a great time. Free food and beer. You can't ask for much more than that! www.choasfest.org has a listing and links to all the badass bands you missed. I'm sure there are a bunch of reasons for the poor turn out. All I can think of is the venues location, and competing shows. You can't deny that Prague Power took some away from this show. Hell I think even the Nopi Nationals hurt attendance. There was just too much going on that weekend. Either that or everyone not-so-secretly hates us.

It's such a damn shame no one showed up! The show really went off without a hitch! All the bands showed up on time (except the canceled ones ofcourse), all the change overs happened in less than 15 minutes...It was really organized and could have been really great.

I really wish Mandy could have been there. We never get to hang out anymore. I miss just being alone with her.

4 years

What a strange feeling that day. A new feeling. When I went to work it was so quiet. Like a dream. I had just turned 22 and I was still living at home with my parents. My brother woke me up screaming, "Wake up, wake up! We're being attacked!!!" Surreal.

The world stood still.

Now we're dealing with Katrina.
Football is on TV.
My baby girl is sleeping soundly.
I'm safe and secure and far from any danger. Just like 4 years ago. Surreal.

Halo Movie?

Holy Crap...who would play Master Chief? George Clooney?

Crap

This baby is angry!

This has to be one of the best Ivy pictures I have right now. We've still got three rolls that we haven't yet developed.

YES. We do not own a digital camera. We're still in the dark ages.

This was right after Terri took her pacifier away. I can't wait to put this in the back of her yearbook when she graduates high school.

Grand Opening

Sundays are so boring.

It's a sad state of affairs when your Saturday night consists of drinking a six pack of Newcastle and buying new furniture in Animal Crossing! Ivy and I had a good time though. She'll be two months old on Thursday. Time FLIES when you are a parent.

Satuday is the big "Chaosfest". We'll see how it goes down. I'm sure Mike will be up to speed . . . i'm just nervous. If this pays off for us it will be a huge step forward.
